Pittsfield, Illinois is a city found in Pike County, and it also serves as the county seat. As of 2013, approximately 4,500 people called this community home. Pittsfield is found in the space of land located between the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers as they move to converge in St. Louis. Pittsfield calls itself the “Pork Capital of the Midwest” because of its long history in the pork industry. There are also a variety of historical homes and locations in this community, including Shastid House, where Abraham Lincoln often stayed when he would practice legal cases in the county.

During the summer, conditions are hot and humid, while weather patterns are completely different in the winter.
